Websites

If social media channels, blogs, television, radio, streaming media and others are the vehicles that carry messages to our audiences today, the website is the transportation center — the bus depot, if you will.

It's where people start by default when they hear about you. People expect you to have a website, and they expect it to be current (much like your social media channels).

They expect to be able to go to your website and find current contact and background information; links to your Twitter channel, Facebook page, Instagram account and LinkedIn profile; media stories about you; blog posts about your cause and more — all in one place.

Keeping it up-to-date can be a challenge. Because it doesn't have an official deadline and can be edited at any time, it's a project that tends to continue being bumped to the bottom of the to-do list. ("Update the website....I'll do that tomorrow.")

You know you cannot ignore your website for long, but there always seems to be something more pressing to do.
